     Uggh! Mine did not do well either in the heat of Summer.  If you want a beautiful white rose that does great in the heat, plant Crystalline or Polar Star.  Both of these are hybrid tea roses.  However, I'm in N. California, and Zone 6a is cooler so Glamis Castle may do well there.  Let us know! Post a pic if you feel ...

    I think this is a grandiflora rose, and the long canes and stems are characteristic of this type of rose.  If you don't have blooms on this bush, try fertilizing w/ a good fertilizer formulated specifically for roses.   I have also found that QE can be propagated quite easily from cuttings using Rootone.  If you propagate ...

    I have not grown Big Purple, but I just planted two Rhapsody in Blue.  I will let you know how they grow in N. California.

    You can also start roses from cuttings, but you can only sell them if the patent for that particular rose has expired.  I think the patent for roses is 17 years. However, several excellent roses have expired patents, such as Double Delight and Peace.  Good Luck!

    Wow! It sounds like you both had major infestations.  Where are you located? I live in N. California, and I have aphids as well, but I have just been spraying with water to control them.  This could change as it gets hotter, and more hatch. Good luck w/ the lady bugs!

    This is a great rose! It does very well in the heat, and repeat blooms quickly.  Blooms are beautiful on the bush or in a vase.
