My David Austen rose (Generous Gardener, planted last year) began to produce quite well developed buds with the beginnings of leaves in early March but a very cold spell we've had here in England in the last few weeks has made them misshapen and darken in colour. What should I do? I read somewhere that the best thing is to leave it alone and it will recover but it might take a year. I also read that it shouldn't be fed because that will encourage it to put out new growth and stress it out even more. However I've already given it some rose fertiliser and a top dressing of well-rotted manure so it's too late for that! Any suggestions appreciated and thanks in advance
