    Moving old roses to containers

I have just inherited 9 very old roses. They have been in a garden for over 30years never moved. Will and when will I be able to move them to containers. Please help.

Depends on where you live, but you should move them before the bush begins to grow new shoots for the new season. Now why don't you leave them in the ground?

Kelly is right to suggest leaving them. Roses seem to become very attached to their homes-especially after being there for so long. Although the likelyhood of them surving a transplant at the appropriate time and to an equally appropriate sight is still very high, the safest thing if at all possible is to leave them.
