    Need Help with roses

    Hi,

We just bought a house with about 10 rose bushes - trees? We have never taken care of roses before and the homeowner neglected the roses for about a year. We are in Seattle WA and would love any advice on how to care for them now. We did prune them just a little last week - thought I am reading that this may have not been the best idea. How often do you water? Every day? How often do you feed them? Any help is welcomed. Thank you.

Pruning should be done in late winter, around late February when you see the buds first begin to swell. An average hybrid Tea can be cut down by half. In the summer, roses should be deep watered at least once a week with a granular rose fertilizer applied once in March and again in July. You can also water in fish emulsion about once a month and give each bush a handful of epson salt in March.
