Hi Everyone,
I'm brand new to this community and forum, and a soon-to-be brand new rose gardner. My love of roses developed throughout childhood as I visited my grandparents who lived in Shreveport, La., where my grandfather was not only a wonderful rose grower, but also a judge for the American Rose Society. He and my grandmother, in their retirement years, used to go all over the country to grow roses. Now I'm all grown up, and just bought my first house and I'd really like to plant some rose bushes but I need some advice. I live in New England in Zone 5, and I'd like to plant the roses along the front of my house, which faces the morning sun - east (and slightly north too). I would like the plants not to grow in height more than 4 to 5 feet, 4 feet ideally, and I'd like them to bloom more than once, be fragrant and have bright colors. Would anyone here have any recommendations for me for what I should look for to plant?
Thank you so much!
