My best friend died on 2/22. Her funeral was 2/24 which was a Saturday. On Monday I visited her grave and took some cuttings of 4 different roses - hothouse of course. Two of them died but two are showing some leaf growth. I'm rooting them the way my grandmother (quite the gardener) did. I just put the cuttings in a glass of water in a sunny window and cut the bloom off when they died. I also slit the bottom of the cutting. As I said two of them are showing leaf growth but so far no roots. I'd really love for these to live as they are so sentimental. Any advice? I live in Alabama so we have hot summers - it's supposed to be close to 80 for the rest of the week.
Thanks for any information - Cheryl.
