    Patent vs non-patent roses

Can anyone tell me if their is a difference with the how a patent vs a non-patent rose will proform? Or why you would buy one over the other?

Really there is not a difference in a pantented or non- patented rose as far as growing well. The patents are only there to protect the grower. Once the patent expires on the plant, then anyone can reproduce the rose and sell it. Of course once that happens, the price goes down.
