Climbing Blaze Rose - No blooms

We have planted a climbing blaze rose around two months back. We live in Zone 5a. I am not sure if it is doing ok. Some of the leaves have closed up. I noticed a mildew on a few others. And of course we have no blooms. Since this is the first year, I am not really worried about the blooms. I am a novice at growing roses, and any help will be greatly appreciated.

Black spot should be treated by removing the affected leaves if the plant is not severly infected and removing all fallen leaves from the base of the plant.
There are several products for black spot on the market.
be sure to read the labels and apply only as needed.
    Good luck
Blaze is a pretty reliable old stand by.
