How close do you have the day lilies to the roses? We have around 145 bushes with daylilies mixed in and they have not affected the roses..plenty of water, fertilizer 5-10-15 every 6 weeks, keep'em deadheaded, spray every week, put a little rabbit food in with the fertilizer..all of this should perk them up...
