    DEFORMED ROSE

I PLANTED MY FIRST ROSE BUSH LAST YEAR. I HAD BLOOMS THAT WERE THE ENVY OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD.
THIS SPRING MY FIRST BLOOM WAS LARGE AND BEAUTIFUL. SINCE THEN ALL OF THE BLOOMS LOOK
DEFORMED. THEY ARE TINY....LOOKS LIKE SOMETHING
ATE THE CENTER OF THE BUD OUT, BUT WHEN THE BUD
OPENS, IT IS DARK GREEN IN THE CENTER....DARK PINK ELSEWHERE.THEY ARE ABOUT 1/8 THE SIZE OF
THE BLOOMS I HAD LAST YEAR. HELP!!!

    Re: DEFORMED ROSE

could be rose midge or thrips. Both are hard to see so I cant be sure. A systemic insecticide, if you are into spraying, would take care of teh problem. I dont know of any organic cure for either of those bugs
