    fences and climbers

Last year I planted two climbers at our chainlink fence.  They have very nice foliage, but do not want to climb on the fence...I have to place them on or around it.  Does anyone know whether climbers will not attach to chainlink by themselves?

    Re: fences and climbers

Roses are not climbers in a sence that they do not have tendrals that will reach out and grab the fence. You must tie the branch to the fence. Climbers are called climbers only because they grow long and tall.
