    shady place roses

I have a shady place that gets 4 hours of direct sun in the afternoon. Are there any roses that will grow and bloom in that type of enviornment?  Any information will be greatly appreciated.

I have a Knock Out rose bush that does well in a shady part of my garden.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunatly, I have a passion for fragrant roses and I should have mentioned that beforehand. Knockout roses are beautiful, but not fragrant. I was hoping for some Hybrid tea or floribunda roses to put in that site for color and fragrance.

    hi.......

actually for the roses to grow at its best level, 6 hours sunlight is must. If you want a good quality of roses, you need to arrange a place having sunlight for at least 6 hours otherwise the roses that will grow are of inferior quality.

There are many roses that will grow and do o.k in the shade: Angel Face, and Cornelia are a couple that have great fragrance!
