caterpillar on my roses

Can anyone help me identify a caterpillar on my roses? They are tiny and work in groups placing themselves in neat formation around the edges of the leaves - which they then eat! They keep their tail ends raised to mimic the serrated edge of the leaf.
Very clever but what are they and what do they become?
Thank you.

You have leaf rollers and the best way to get rid of them is by using a chemical insecticide spray, or organtic controls for maximum effectiveness.
