Banana peels

I was told by a friend, whose father grew roses, that blending banana peels and water and pouring around the base of roses was a good source of nutrition. Anyone else know this?

Yes, banana peels mixed into the soil are a great fertilizer. As the peels decay nutrient rich elements are released for the use of the rose. Chop up the peels to speed the decomposing process.
