    Too late to Prune?

Last year I read an article that said I was to prune roses on the "Blue Moon"; and since there were two full moons last February, I pruned as told. This year, I let time slip by and my rose bush (a gift from my son) has not
been pruned. I went out on the internet and "Ask Jeeves" if I could prune now (March 14th). From there I read your article on pruning. Since the bush is already putting out leaves, I am wondering whether it is to late to prune. I live in Lawrenceville, GA.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Just cut out the dead and spindly looking wood and don't worry about doing any serious pruning this year if your rose is already putting out leaves. The reason we prune rose bushes is to keep them tidy and to encourage new growth from the bud union. It won't hurt the rose at all if you miss this seasons pruning.
