    Pruning season

I just recently bought a house and the neighbors were telling me about the beautiful rose bush. Well, it wasn't covered all winter and I thought it was dead. It has bloomed and is pretty. My question is this can I cut off the dead stems now or do I have to wait until the rose bush is no longer blooming? I don't know if it will harm the bush or not.

    Re: Pruning season

Dead stems can be cut off the bush now to clean it up. There is always the chance of diseases or pests entering the cuts during the growing season. This is why you should do major pruning during the Fall or Winters end.
