At the present time there is no rose that has black blooms. Black and blue are the only 2 colors that are not available in roses.

However, you will find roses that are a very dark red. That would be the closest that you will come to black.

i was told that black roses were an anomoly.. they came from the sterling rose, that one bloom or so every few years would be black.. but that there was no way to force or predict the black rose...

Try two of my personal favorites in Tea roses - Black Magic or Ink Spots. For a miniature, try Black Jade. All have almost black buds and the blooms are deep (almost black) reds.

Try "Black Baccara" distributed by Carlton Roses. Not truly black of course, but the closest there is so far.

Someone sold me a "black rose", it bloomed red. I tried looking up the "black rose" but could't find anything out about it. I've read that there's no such thing as a black rose

The black roses you bought were cut and then dyed. There isn't such a thing as a black rose bush.
